Functional

Decorative

Here we mainly talk about “feature-item”, like statue or small pond for which the main purpose is to making a statement in your garden, beautifying the surrounding it sits in. It usually also provides calming sights and sounds, promoting relaxation and stress reduction.

What is common for all, is that any water feature you add, it has the added bonus of providing assistance in filtering the air in two ways. The first is by attracting dust particles due to the negative ions emitted from the flowing water. The second is through the formation of water vapors that help filter the air. But honestly, for most people this will not be the argument for deciding to add water in your garden.
