Garden Transformation

A backyard or garden transformation can really be a major project and is often underestimated. Yes, it does give so much satisfaction and job, once it is completed, but you have to survive the project first. Luckily so many people have done it before you, so let’s see how they did it, so you know what you are up against!

5 golden tips:

  1. Consider how much time and effort you are able to put into it yourself. The more you do yourself, you can save a lot of money. But convenience is fine to. That’s why there are professionals out there that can do it with excellent quality and fast, but you’ll have to pay for it!
  2. Building “new” cost money, but taking away the “old” as well. Consider how you are going to dispose of the old stuff. Soil, stone and concrete, old wood structures. Cheapest is to dispose of separately. Mixed waste is always more expensive when you bring it to the dump.
  3. Consider upcycling. Old stone, old wood, even cut-down trees or tree-stumps can be reused and given a new life – and save you money in the process.
  4. Design and plan before you buy. Sometimes its good to take all the “old” away, so you really know what you are dealing with. But then, make a really good plan so that you can reduce your surprises along the way.
  5. Learn from other’s triumphs and epic fails.
